Nokia 1020 “the superphone”

1020

Last tuesday oct.1 , at Ayala Museum in Makati City, Finnish Giant Nokia officially introduced its newest flagship handset, the Nokia Lumia 1020, to technology bloggers and the media in the Philippines.

EOS Press Hero Shot

The Nokia Lumia 1020 is able to produce some of the sharpest images possible by any digital camera thanks to Nokia’s innovative PureView technology, including a second generation 41 megapixel sensor, six lens Carl Zeiss optics with optical image stabilization – allowing people to capture, edit and share professional quality photos and videos.

Using a new application called Nokia Pro Camera, the Nokia Lumia 1020 reinvents zoom, enabling people to shoot first and then zoom later to discover and re-discover stories that contain more detail than the eye can see. With a beautiful interface that visually demonstrates how settings will affect the final photo or video, Nokia Pro Camera simplifies features usually reserved for professional cameras and teaches people how to take better photographs.

“Consumers want to capture and share memorable experiences with their smartphone. We want to take people on a journey from capturing pictures to recording and sharing their lives. The Nokia Lumia 1020 brings new meaning to pictures and continues to strengthen Nokia’s leadership in imaging. The Nokia Lumia 1020 is the first smartphone to exceed many standalone digital cameras in terms of image quality capture ensuring users always have that perfect photo – day or night,” said Gary Chan, Head of Marketing, Pan Asia, Nokia .

The Nokia Lumia 1020 is the most versatile digital camera in the market today. Its unique dual capture feature simultaneously takes a high resolution 38 megapixel image for endless editing opportunities, and creates a 5 megapixel picture that is easy to share on social networks with Windows Phone 8.

“The Nokia Lumia 1020 marks a giant leap forward in smartphone photography. With its 41 megapixel sensor and Nokia Pro Camera app, the Nokia Lumia 1020 boosts creativity and makes it easier to shoot, edit and share pictures with unrivaled clarity,” said Chan.

Delivering crystal clear pictures even in low light conditions, the Nokia Lumia 1020 also captures blur-free videos with stereo sound at the loudest concerts thanks to the Nokia Rich Recording feature, which handles sound pressure levels six times louder than conventional smartphone microphones.

With over 175,000 apps, the personal nature of Windows Phone makes it the perfect platform for the Nokia Lumia 1020, showcasing live images on the Start screen with the Photos tile, quick sharing to social networks, and easy access to files across a number of devices with SkyDrive. With a dedicated camera button, Windows Phone is designed with imaging in mind.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 also features leading Nokia services. There is the leading HERE suite of integrated location services, including HERE Maps with augmented reality and featuring LiveSight making it quick and easy to find new places to take photos.

Although it is a 5k and everybody can run as hard as they’d like, most just want to light-it-up, have a good time, and dance their way to the finish. The fun doesn’t end there because the after run celebration near the finish line is the best part of the NEON INVASION– New Wave Party for a Cause! This event is one of the Local Government of Quezon City December festivities along with the grand opening of The Quezon City Museum. A part of the proceeds will be donated to the Museum, Alay Kay Inay Ng Lungsod Quezon Foundation Inc. and Cottolenggo.

Filipino Neon Invasion is all about people of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes toeing the start line.
At the Neon Invasion, participants will have the chance to Run, Dance, Socialize, take Photos and more importantly have FUN! Starting with the 5K, participants will run traditional, non-competitive courses with different musical era stations with upbeat dance set up throughout the route. Volunteers will be on hand the neon glow sticks in every round trip they make. The run ends with a fun vibe party with DJ’s and band’s.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Do not expect your typical 5k road race. You will be running through glow zones that will consist of neon lights, laser lighting, fog, and music to enhance your experience back to the finish

Jeron Teng of La Salle and Jeric Teng of the University of Santo Tomas. — Handout photo

After three months of intense UAAP basketball. After all the close games, game-winning shot’s, controversial calls, suspensions of coaches, players, referees and fans. After the slow first round. After the “thanks Bo!” Incident. After Ricky Palou tired to disqualify La Salle board members. They have reached the pinnacle of the UAAP Season. They are finally in the Finals! The De La Salle Green Archers take on the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers this Wednesday at the Smart- Araneta Coliseum for Game 1 of the Best of Three Finals. The loyal and die-hard fans, students and alumni of both schools have been waiting for this moment since the beginning of the pre-season. Unfortunately, the finals are also a time when the bandwagon fans show up out of nowhere just to be among the “in” crowd. That is the downside of success for any sports team.

The highlight of this event is the teng brother’s. Jeron Teng and Jeric Teng as they lead their respective teams when De La Salle University and the University of Santo Tomas collide in Game 1 of the UAAP 76 Men’s Srs. Basketball Finals.

Expect a sea of yellow and green to fill the Big Dome as two of the most storied UAAP teams slug it out for the chance to be named the new champion for the first time in six years.

Uaap Season 76 Finals Schedule:
game 1: Smart Araneta Coliseum 3:30pm Oct.2 (wed)
game 2: Smart Araneta Coliseum 3:30pm  Oct.5 (sat)
game 3: Moa Arena 3:30pm Oct 12 (sat) *if necessary

The game will air live on Studio 23, BALLS HD 167, uaaplivestream.studio23.tv and iwantv.com.ph and DZMM 630 AM with a same day replay at 9 p.m. on BALLS SkyCable channel 34 or Destiny Cable channel 36.
